DO YOU NEED SOME HELP OR SUPPORT WITH YOUR HORSE?  ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A YARD WHERE NO QUESTION IS TOO SMALL OR SILLY?  DO YOU WANT HELP WITH THE LITTLE THINGS BUT DO NOT WANT TO ASK?  ARE SADDLE FITTING, STABLE MANAGEMENT, FEEDING, WORMING ETC A MINEFIELD? WELL WE CAN HELP YOU.

 

We offer part or full livery for nervous / first time owners / less confident riders / owners.  We are on hand to help and offer support with all aspects of horse care and riding no matter how small or silly you may feel it its. We have a friendly approachable team including a saddle fitter, equine body worker, instructor and more and  we would love to make a difference to you and help you regain your confidence or just enjoy your horse again.

 Full Livery

Total care of the horse to include stable and turn out, hay or haylage, ad lib straw or ONE bale of shavings per week, hard feed (supplements not included), mucking out - am, turning out, light grooming, skipping out - pm. Payable one month in advance. Minimum period 1 month.

£85.00 per week per horse.  Extra shavings to be paid at current rate.


Breaking / Schooling Livery


Total care of the horse to include stable and turn out, hay or haylage, ad lib straw or ONE bale of shavings, hard feed (feed supplements not included), mucking out - am, grooming, skipping out - pm, tack cleaning, turning out and training of the horse. Payable one month in advance. Minmum period one month.

£20 per day per horse.  Extra shavings to be paid at current rate.

Holiday Livery


Total care of the horse to include stable and turn out, hay or haylage, ad lib straw or ONE bale of shavings per week, hard feed (feed supplements not included), mucking out - am, grooming, skipping out - pm, turning out. Payable one month in advance or in advance for duration of holiday.

£85.00 per week per horse - possible reductions during summer months if no stable required.  Extra shavings to be paid at current rate.

Part Livery

 


Stable and grazing, haylage, either - feed and turn out (am), feed and skip out (am) or bring in and feed (pm).  A charge of £1 per day will be made for horses that require bringing in aswell as turning out

£45 per week per horse.  Shavings £6 per bale.  Straw £2.75 per bale

Full Livery Agreement


This form must be completed for 1 horse only. If you have more than 1 horse then you must have a separate agreement for each one.

Details of any vices such as Crib Biting or Chewing Wood, Kicking, Biting, Weaving, Rearing, Jumping out of fields etc.  Any Special requirements….


1. In this agreement the term ‘Horse’ includes, where applicable, a horse, pony or other equine.


2. You will pay us £ 85 per week or £ 368 per calendar month, to be paid monthly in advance. Any other extras to be paid at the end of each week.


3. At the start of this agreement you will pay us a deposit of £   which will be retuned to you on the termination of this agreement provided all sums due to us have been paid.


4. You authorise us to call out your veterinary surgeon to attend to your horse if we, at our absolute discretion, think it is necessary. This does not impose any obligation upon us to do so. You authorise us to use any veterinary surgeon in an emergency and to instruct him to take such action as he advises. You are responsible for all charges from any veterinary surgeon, whether called out by yourself or us.


5. You will choose your own farrier to attend to your horse and he will invoice you direct. You may leave us payment by prior arrangement.


6. We will provide you with a stable for your horse, a field in which it may be turned out with others and storage space for a reasonable amount of equipment. We will provide full care of your horse including light grooming, mucking out, feeding and either ad lib straw OR one bale of shavings per week.  Extra shavings must be paid for at the current rate.


7. You must: Let us know of any changes to the details given at the start of the contract.
Worm your horse regularly.  If you are in doubt as to which wormer to use please ask.
Exercise your horse appropriately to ensure its physical and mental well-being.
Ensure that your horses feet are regularly attended to by your farrier (You are responsible for calling him out).
Ensure that your horse is vaccinated against equine influenza and tetanus, of which we require proof of up to date vaccination at any time.
Park your vehicles in the designated car park.

Keep the yard and your personal property in it tidy.

8. We shall not be liable to you for any injury, illness or death of you or your horse or for any loss or damage to your personal property however caused. The welfare of your horse is your sole responsibility.


9. We shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage or death caused by your horse, tack or other property and you shall indemnify us against all actions, proceedings, costs, claims or demands so caused.


10. We require you to be insured against claims by third parties for damage caused by your horse.


11. We strongly recommend that you take out adequate other insurance and at all times when riding wear a fastened crash hat to current BSI standards.


12. You may exercise your horse in the areas provided and use the jumps provided. This is done entirely at your own risk and, as stated in clause 8, we shall not be liable for any loss, injury, damage or death to yourself, your horse or any other person.


13. The livery contract may be terminated by either you or us on 28 days written notice. On or before the expiry of the notice all outstanding sums of money owed to us must be paid before your property is removed.

Livery Rules


1. Any rules as set out in the livery agreement must be followed.

2. No sub-letting of paddocks, stables, storage sheds or parking is allowed.

3. No smoking is permitted in stable areas at any time.

4. You cannot use your horse(s) for hire or reward or teach other riders how to ride on this establishment or carry on in such a way that undermines or competes with Hawthorn Equestrian Centre.

5. Children on the premises are your responsibility and must be kept under control at all times. H.E.C does not accept the responsibility of any children that you may bring onto the premises.  They must not be a nuisance to other liveries/clients of H.E.C.

6. Any item left at H.E.C. is left entirely at your own risk and H.E.C. accepts no responsibility or liability for any of your property.

7. Keep all gates closed at all times.

8. Take care when driving on H.E.C. premises and keep to a maximum speed limit of 5 miles per hour - remember there are horses, dogs, children and other people around.

9. Horse Lorries or Trailers must be parked in designated lorry/trailer areas only at a small charge per week. We do not accept any liability for such items and it is up to you to have your own insurance.

10. Dogs allowed by arrangement first please to prevent any upset with the resident dogs. 

11. You must have your own public liability insurance for any pets you bring onto the premises.

12. If you cannot get to the yard to sort out your horse or pony then you must inform us as soon as possible so that we may offer the best service to you. This service will be provided at extra cost.

13. You must throw your muck up daily onto the muck heap.  You must not start a new step unless you have been given permission.  If you do not throw your muck up you will be charged by H.E.C.

14. Any breakages or repairs of stables or gates or fencing that need doing must be reported as soon as you are aware of them and if you or your animals have caused the damage it must be paid for at cost, at your expense. We will however carry out the repair ourselves.

15. You must sweep under bins in feed room, wash bins, utensils etc. and tidy storage area (sweeping under items as well) on a regular basis. This will help to preserve cleanliness and deter vermin.

16. Empty any wheelbarrows or skips immediately after use and put safely out of the way. You must put tools away clean and tidy in the appropriate place.

17. When mounted you must wear a properly secured riding hat that conforms to current British safety standards at all times, H.E.C accepts no responsibility whatever especially if these rules are not followed.

18. When using the facilities please leave them as you would wish to find them and inform us of any breakages immediately. Any breakages must be reported to H.E.C. and must be paid for. Any jump areas must be left tidy.

19. You are strongly advised to wear a reflective fluorescent item at all times when hacking out (yellow is best).

20. Riding, lunging, driving or any other mounted activity is prohibited in grazing areas. Horses and ponies must only be worked in designated areas.
